My soaps are made with the method called "Cold-Process". There are no chemicals or preservatives used in this soap but I wanted a richer, creamier more luxurious soap. So I read everything I could find on soap making and experimented with numerous recipes using the “Cold-Process” method. This method causes a chemical reaction which produces pure glycerin. This traditional way of blending oils and Sodium Hydroxide, called saponification, has been used for hundreds of years. Unlike my mother, who used animal fats, I use only vegetable oils in my bath soaps. I find that using olive, coconut and palm oils help to make a creamier bar of soap. I use essential oils and natural ingredients like oatmeal to add fragrance and texture to each bar. All my soaps are made in small batches, hand cut and cured for four to six weeks, before the bar can be a nice addition to a warm bath.
